Creativity has always been my way of connecting.

I'm Lisa, the founder of Living True You, an artist, teacher, lifelong maker, and traveler who believes some of the most meaningful connections happen when we gather around a table and create something with our hands.

My own creative journey has taken me around the world. I've traveled to more than 25 countries, always drawn to the art, traditions, and handmade objects that tell the story of a place and its people.

In Indonesia, I had the opportunity to learn the centuries-old art of batik from local craftspeople. It was an experience that deepened my appreciation for traditional art forms and the way creativity can connect us across cultures.

That same curiosity led me to silversmithing. Over the course of several months, I learned the craft from a Thai couple who generously shared their knowledge and techniques with me. Working with metal was an entirely different creative experience: the tools, the patience, and the process of transforming something seemingly rigid into something beautiful fascinated me.

Years later, that experience has found its way back into my creative life through my growing love of copper art. There is something I find especially beautiful about copper, its warmth, its texture, and the way it changes as you work with it. It's a reminder that the creative skills we gather throughout our lives don't disappear. They evolve, resurface, and often lead us somewhere entirely new.

Later, during my Waldorf teacher training, I discovered the wonderfully tactile world of fiber arts. Over the years, I've continued exploring batik, wet and needle felting, embroidery, sewing, mosaic, and other forms of textile and handcraft.
