Discover the centuries-old Indonesian art of wax-resist dyeing in this hands-on, artist-led experience.

Participants begin by exploring the history and traditions of batik before choosing from a curated collection of designs. Using a traditional tjanting tool, they practice applying warm beeswax before creating their own wax-resist design on fabric.

Once the wax design is complete, participants bring their artwork to life with color. Choose from 12 vibrant dyes, which can be blended to create an almost endless range of colors and personal expression.

After the dye dries, soda ash is applied to set the color, followed by the final reveal: the wax is removed in a hot-water bath, revealing the finished batik design.
