Discover the art of creating a landscape with wool instead of paint.

In this tactile fiber-art experience, participants learn how to transform layers of soft wool fibers into a richly textured landscape. Rather than using a brush, you'll work with color, texture and shape, building your image one layer at a time and watching the landscape emerge.

Participants begin by exploring basic needle-felting techniques and learning how different types of wool can be used to create depth, movement and texture. With guidance throughout the process, you'll begin building your own landscape, choosing colors and details to create a scene inspired by nature.

Create a Landscape in Wool

Using a prepared landscape composition as a starting point, participants learn how to layer and needle-felt wool to create the foundation of their artwork.

Because needle-felting a detailed landscape is a process that rewards patience and attention to detail, the artwork will likely not be completed during the experience. Rather than rushing the creative process, participants leave with everything they need to continue developing their landscape at home.

You'll take home your partially completed artwork, a felting needle and additional wool fibers so you can continue adding layers, texture and detail at your own pace.

The finished landscape becomes a project to return to long after the gathering ends.
